are still part of his car in great condition. In regards to his "Green N", yes his inexperience in recognizing detonation is going to cost something. There will be some discounted costs to repair the engine damage but only a small fraction of what was originally spent. We've required the customer to come pick up the car in person after the repairs are completed and we will be making every attempt to teach what knock sounds like and how to avoid it. The cost of a built motor is likely not feasible for the customer and this is not the right answer in regards to solving the actual problem. A good stock motor is plenty strong enough for his power level as long as nothing goes wrong. We've recommended a J&S knockgaurd to help prevent anything like this from ever happening again. Regardless of how good of a job we do on building a car or how good or conservative the tune is, things can still happen out of our control that can destoy a customers engine in short order. Too much boost, poor fuel quality, MAF calibration failure, even a fuel pump or pressure regulator failure - just to name a few. These things WILL happen and there is nothing we can do to stop it. However we do have a solution that can protect the Z32 engine in most all these circumstances. HALTECH. It's relatively expensive but we are currently working to make it more affordable. We will have Z1 custom Haltech packages posted in the next few weeks. We have indefinitely suspended large Z32 builds but we will be continuing to tune and install Haltech units on customers cars as well as our own. We will also be offering Mr. Brigham this option.
